What is The Multiverse? - Definition and Concept
IBYXO - Many studies have been conducted to uncover the fact that Multiverse are real, but until now it's just a theory that we don't know when there will be proof.
Have you ever thought that the universe is not just one? We don't think too hard about it in every aspect, but what if it really existed, you'd be surprised and you'd want to find out everything.
The Multiverse, a very interesting theory that raises a lot of speculation whether it is positive or negative, the concept of the multiverse itself was proposed by a physicist named Hugh Everett III.
What is the Multiverse?
Multiple universes or Multiverse are theories of universes that are more than 1 universe or consist of several universes, meaning that universes that have copies of other universes may have the same or different concepts.
The Multiverse theory itself consists of several such as quantum mechanics, infinite universe, bubble universe, parallel universe, and baby universe.
Quantum Mechanics
This theory systematically describes how matter acts or behaves, in other words, it explains all kinds of material behavior in the universe.
Infinite Universe
This theory describes the possibility of an infinite number of universes, which means that the number of universes is impossible to count in its entirety.
Bubble Universe
This theory describes how the universe happened after the big bang and then became a bubble floating in space.
Parallel Universe
This theory describes the existence of universes that are the same as ours or the opposite of ours, meaning that everything in our universe might be the same or the opposite in another universe.
Baby Universe
This theory suggests that there is a parent universe and a new universe or vice versa.
Multiverse are also widely associated with higher dimensions, perhaps a place for those who created the universe we inhabit and everything in it, despite all that this is only a theory, maybe you can watch science & fiction movies about the theory of Multiverse to get some references about the explanation of the theory of Multiverse.
Of all the theories explained about Multiverse, it is possible that the universe is not just 1 but for now there is no evidence.
Many debates arise about this theory ranging from disagreeing with this theory because it is confusing, there are also those who agree, but if you refer to some arguments such as untestable it is because of the limitations of current technology.
Multiverses are divided into several levels, in a scientific article entitled "Parallel Universe" by Max Tegmark which divides into 4 levels in the Multiverse.
Level 1: Beyond Our Cosmic Horizon
This level describes our universe as a bubble crammed into the space-time we call the universe.
Level 2: Other Postiflation Bubbles
In this level, it is depicted that these bubbles are grouped into 1 Multiverse and become more and more numerous, precisely in the cosmos.
Level 3: Quantum Many Worlds
At this level, it is depicted that our universe and other universes are in different quantum branches, based on the theory of Quantum Mechanics, which is the most controversial concept.
Level 4: Other Mathematical Structures
In this last level, proven by 2 physicists named Dr. Robert Foot and Dr. Saibal Mitra from Australia, they made a discovery on the asteroid Eros of Mirror Matter, its existence itself has 2 sides, the left side is the universe, and the right side is the mirror matter itself.
We can draw an overall conclusion, that there are many interesting discussions, one of which is about this Multiverse, for now we cannot prove it, not that we cannot but not yet.
